Since December 15, 2025, a Class 1 licence in Québec requires mandatory training. The PESR – Class 1 is at least 125 hours: 75 h of theory and 50 h of practice, scheduled around your availability.

  1. STAGE 01

    Prerequisite check

    We validate your file
    1 meeting Qazi office

    Class 5 valid for 24 months, SAAQ medical certificate, drug/alcohol test. We check everything and walk you through the paperwork.

  2. STAGE 02

    Classroom theory

    Code, regulations, safety
    ~90 h theory Qazi classroom

    Heavy-vehicle highway code, federal hours-of-service rules, dangerous goods transport (TDG), basic mechanics.

  3. STAGE 03

    Class 1 learner's permit

    SAAQ theory test
    After theory SAAQ centre

    You take the SAAQ theory tests for Class 1 (or Class 3). Pass them and you get the learner's permit, then move into the practical block.

  4. STAGE 04

    Yard manoeuvres

    Taming the heavy rig
    ~150 h practical Private practice yard

    Trailer coupling/uncoupling, S-reversing, loading dock, obstacle circuit. All of it before touching the road.

  5. STAGE 05

    Road and highway

    Real-world driving
    ~300 h practical Montreal region · inter-urban corridors

    Driving in dense traffic, highways, long distances. We include winter driving (when in season) and real-condition manoeuvres.

  6. STAGE 06

    SAAQ road test

    Class 1 or 3
    ~1h30 SAAQ exam centre

    Vehicle inspection, yard manoeuvres, road portion. We provide the vehicle, the warm-up, and test-day support.

  7. STAGE 07

    Placement & career

    From licence to job
    After the road test Partner carriers

    We work with several Quebec carriers. We connect you with employers, help build your resume, and help you pick your niche (long-haul, local, tanker, etc.).
